Jahra ‘Rager’ Wasasala

Jahra ‘Rager’ Wasasala is of Fijian/NZ Euro origin and is a multi-disciplinary artist utilising the forms of ancestral attunement through performance activation, contemporary dance technique, and poetry. Jahra trained at Unitec and graduated with her Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance. Jahra has toured her creative works both nationally and internationally, and most recently she was engaged in a research intensive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in preparation for solo performance. Jahra has sat in positions of governance for the Auckland War Memorial Museum within the Youth Advisory Group and the Pacific Advisory Group and in 2016 was awarded the Prime Minister’s Pacific Youth Award for the Arts.
