Workshop: A Toolkit for Art Writers - Hamilton edition

Calling all arts writers based in the Waikato region!

Creative Waikato and Wintec's RAMP Gallery are bringing us to Hamilton to deliver an arts writing workshop and we'd love to see you there.

Led by The Pantograph Punch's Lana Lopesi (Editor-in-Chief) and Lucinda Bennett (Visual Arts Editor), this three-hour workshop will cover some of the issues facing arts writers today, including: how to shift your writing style across different forms and audiences while maintaining a voice, how to write response(ibly) and how to manage relationships with different stakeholders – ranging from your editor to the artist to the reader.

A bit about the facilitators

Lana Lopesi is the Editor-in-Chief of The Pantograph Punch. Previously, she was the founding editor of Hashtag500words and editor of Design Assembly. Her first book, False Divides, was published with Bridget Williams Books earlier this year.

Lucinda Bennett is Visual Arts Editor at The Pantograph Punch. Elsewhere, her work has been published with Art New Zealand, Art + Australia, Art Collector, ARTSPACE, Bowerbank Ninow, and Public Art Dialogue. In 2017, she was the CNZ Curatorial Intern in Contemporary Art at Dunedin Public Art Gallery.
