Be part of our 2017 season, which features performances, exhibitions, and pop-up food events across Auckland.

This year, The Pantograph Punch team launched a programme of events called Satellites, which was all about creating unexpected encounters with artists we love. Our 2016 programme included an exhibition in the abandoned Old Papatoetoe Mall, an underground food tour along Dominion Road, and a K-pop dance showdown in Albany featuring choreographers who've worked with Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Parris Goebel.

As part of our 2017 season, we’ve created a mentorship programme, which will give two emerging practitioners the opportunity to develop their experience in producing, marketing, and programming events. Running for a sixteen-week period between March – June 2017, the successful applicants will rotate within three areas – production and project management, marketing, and business and audience development – across our Satellites 2017 season (the full programme will be announced in February, and will include performances, exhibitions, and pop-up food events across the Auckland region). You’ll also have the opportunity to feed into our programming for our Satellites 2018 year, and will be working in tandem with our partner organisations, Silo Theatre and Alt Group.

This paid internship involves:

  • One-on-one professional development across a sixteen-week period between March - June 2017 (working one day a week - hours have some flexibility, to be confirmed with the team)
  • The opportunity to work on events from beginning to end in a range of roles
  • Support with continued professional development, including opportunities within the team beyond the internship period
  • A post-internship reference for job or funding applications

Who we are:

The events team is Rosabel Tan, Hayden Eastmond-Mein and Sophie Dowson. We act as co-producers across each of our events, but we also each have specific areas of expertise:

Rosabel specialises in programming and audience development. Elsewhere she works with a range of organisations including Auckland Art Gallery, Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art and City Gallery to develop their research programmes. 

Hayden is an events and digital communications specialist who's previously worked at Vice, 95bFM, Auckland Transport and the Green Party. 

Sophie is an experienced producer who's worked in a number of roles across the Auckland Arts Festival, New Zealand Festival and World of Wearable Art. She is also a producer and production manager for Barbarian Productions.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for people who are interested in the arts and who are looking to develop their experience in creating and running events. Ideally you'd also have:

  • A full drivers license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines
  • Someone who resides locally or be prepared to relocate to Auckland for the internship duration
