In partnership with Blue Oyster Art Project Space and the New Zealand Young Writers Festival, join us for a critical arts writing workshop in Ōtepoti.

Join Lana Lopesi (Editor-in-Chief and Visual Arts Co-Editor) & Rosabel Tan (Founding Editor and Director) of The Pantograph Punch for a two-part workshop breaking down critical art writing and reviewing. Over two days we will embark on a conversation that looks at questions such as, what purpose does criticism serve? What does good art writing look like? Or for artists, how do you pitch your work to the critics?

On the second day, there will be an opportunity for feedback from others in the room about something you are working on at the moment to help get you through that writers block. This workshop will see practical editing and skill-sharing. Participants will need to submit a short, recent text on registration for this part of the workshop.

This workshop is free to attend and proudly a part of 2017 New Zealand Young Writers Festival. Participants are asked to submit a short, recently written text (500-1000 words) as well as a short bio. Due to restrictions of space, this workshop is limited in numbers.

Thursday 7 September 12pm - 3pm & Friday 8 September 9am -12pm
