John Summers is the author of the non-fiction collection The Mermaid Boy (Hue & Cry Press). His creative non-fiction, fiction, travel stories and reviews have appeared in a range of publications including Landfall, SportThe Spinoff, NZ Listener, The Press and the NZ Herald. In 2016 he won the non-fiction category in the 2016 Sunday Star Times Short Story awards. He lives in the Wairarapa.
