Madison Hamill is a Wellington-based writer. You can read her work in Turbine, The Spinoff and Sweet Mammalian. Madison grew up in Dunedin before moving to the capital to become a famous writer. So far she has earned a Masters in Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters (2018) and stacked up a student loan debt.
Her debut collection of personal essays, Specimen, will be published by Victoria University Press in 2020.
Approaching the end of her study, Pākehā publishing student Madison Hamill reflects on her place in an industry that has been described as a ‘white castle’.
